To train people equipped with specialized, up-to-date and solid knowledge in criminal dogmatics and nuclear and auxiliary criminal sciences, as well as trained to apply such knowledge in professional practice, public service and academic research, through ethical and committed conduct with social development.
Upon completing their postgraduate studies within this program, the student will be able to:
Identify the regulations and criminal principles applicable to a specific legal conflict. Interpret the criminal law in accordance with the Constitution of the Republic and the universal values of justice, common welfare and legal security.
Solve the criminal cases that are presented to him in his work as an advisor, sponsor, public servant, justice or academic operator.
Propose solutions for the social problems raised in their environment, which are related to crime and its consequences.
Defend the fundamental rights of people through the fight for the validity and execution of criminal guarantees. Promote the development of tools that, from the criminal sciences, can contribute to the development of the country and the improvement of the quality of life of citizens. Promote the application of the paradigms that structure the criminal due process.
critically finalize existing criminal laws and propose the necessary reforms in light of the principles of criminal law, constitutional guarantees and human rights.
Develop legal research in the area of Criminal Law and its related disciplines, obtaining relevant results for the development of legal dogmatics.
