The Master in Seismic Resistant Structures is aimed at training professionals with the technical capacity to carry out analysis, evaluation and design of structures using cutting-edge techniques. Focusing on advanced analysis of structures, the professional will acquire classic design knowledge such as capacity design and innovative designs such as the use of seismic isolation and dissipation devices. It is a master's degree that aspires to train professionals capable of solving the deficiencies in the earthquake-resistant design of structures present in our country. The high professional capacity will contribute to the generation and application of knowledge, in a context of ethics and respect, that contributes to the integral development of our society.

General Purpose

Train professionals specialized in Civil Engineering within the area of Earthquake Resistant Structures who have technical capacity for the design, evaluation, construction and rehabilitation of safe structures against seismic risk; maintaining an aptitude for leadership, creativity, and an investigative spirit to solve the challenges of reducing the vulnerability of structures to disasters, with a strong social and environmental commitment.

Entry requirements

Professionals with the minimum third level degree that has a registration code in the SENESCYT in the areas of:

• Civil Engineering.
• Hydraulic engineer.
• Environmental engineering.

According to the resolution of the CES communicated to the Universities, and the Regulations of the Academic Regime, the qualifying degrees are THIRD LEVEL OF DEGREE and not the titles of the third higher technical-technological level, since they are qualifying for technological masters and ours it is academic.

You must also demonstrate proficiency in B1 English, comply with the enrollment process and approve the defined admission process.

Admission process

Applicants must pre-register on the website of the postgraduate department (https://www.uazuay.edu.ec/admisiones/posgrados/), here they must upload documentation such as the third-level degree, their updated CV, certificate of approval of English at the university that graduated (in case of not having a certificate of approval of English, the UDA will take an exam that demonstrates a level B1), and passport-size photo. Once the pre-registration has been made, for this, the registration must be paid (50 USD) through the payment button with any credit card, in the University Treasury or by deposit or bank transfer to the following accounts:
