Graduate profile

Knows and applies contemporary concepts on Tourism and its relationship with the territory as a basis for planning and managing enterprises with local identity. It identifies the problems and impacts of tourism in urban and rural territories, and responds to possible intervention strategies for the revitalization of local economies.

Solves territorial planning problems, to systematically define which territories have tourist vacations, to strengthen local enterprises and initiatives.

It promotes local development models that avoid the irrational exploitation of natural resources and that contribute to fostering local participation in innovative and sustainable tourism initiatives. 

Entry requirements

Professionals with degrees in: Tourism, Gastronomy, Hospitality, History, Geography, Language, Culture, Heritage, Communication, Architecture, Design, Education, Humanities, Economics and Administration Sciences, who demonstrate experience in the tourism sector and whose qualifications are duly registered in the National Information System of the National Secretariat of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (SENESCYT); as well as managers, entrepreneurs and public and/or private businessmen who seek to strengthen their professional skills and abilities in the tourism field.

Admission process

Applicants must register on the website of the Postgraduate Department
www.uazuay.edu.ec/admisiones/postgrados, they must upload: passport size photo, third level degree title, identity card and updated CV.

Registration (50 USD) must be paid through the payment button with any credit card, or at the university treasury, or by deposit or bank transfer to the following accounts:

Once the payment is made, a copy of the receipts must be sent to:
