Graduate profile

 

The future graduate will be able to generate new knowledge applied to the conservation, recovery and sustainable use of biodiversity and natural resources. To do so, you will be able to design an investigation, take data autonomously and interpret its results with geospatial and statistical tools.

The graduate can also produce scientific publications and manage research funds. You will also be able to analyze and interpret scientific information to make management decisions for a territory, its biodiversity and its natural resources; both in urban and rural areas. For this, they will be able to communicate effectively with professionals from other branches, synthesize information from different sources, and propose specific management strategies or plans.

Graduates will have acquired the ability to critically face current problems of biodiversity and natural resources in the context of global change and environmental crisis, both in rural and urban territories.

Entry requirements

The program is aimed at professionals who have a third level degree in Environmental Engineering, Biology, Ecology, Civil Engineering, Agronomic Engineering, Mining Engineering, Chemical Engineering and related careers in Environmental Sciences and Earth Sciences. The candidate must have a strong orientation towards research and show interest in deepening knowledge and acquiring habits of scientific rigor.

Admission process

Applicants must pre-register on the website of the postgraduate department (https://www.uazuay.edu.ec/admisiones/posgrados/), here they must upload documentation such as the third level degree, their updated CV, certificate of approval of English at the university that graduated (in case of not having a certificate of approval of English, the UDA will take an exam that shows a B1), etc. Once the pre-registration has been made, they can pay the registration (50 USD) through the payment button with any credit card, in the University Treasury or by deposit or bank transfer to the following accounts:
