The Master in Procedural Law of the University of Azuay in its design has three fundamental axes:

to. The curricular structure reflects the concern for the training of teachers, who understand the legal phenomenon with an interdisciplinary approach (politics, interculturality, human rights, gender, history) linked to the development of a critical and practical vision of Procedural Law;

b. It has a consolidated institutional framework, due to the experience in similar programs offered; as well as the use of suitable, effective and modern tools to meet the expectations of their teachers;

c. The Master's program has a professional trajectory, those who are trained in it will have tools that will influence the field of their profession (both free exercise and public or private service); without neglecting his rigorous investigative training.

The master's program will provide comprehensive training in the area of ​​Procedural Law, providing legal technical knowledge necessary for the development of the skills that the modern procedural system requires, in accordance with current and technological trends that provide the regulatory landscape.

Graduate profile

Upon completion of the curriculum of this program, the student will be able to understand the new procedural model and develop their skills within the framework of the oral procedural system, being able to take a critical position in this regard.

Learn about new legal figures, their relevance and effects on the procedure, as well as their interpretation under the Constitutional Norm. The graduate, in addition to having an integral vision of the process as a fundamental legal institution, a necessary and suitable means to make the rights and guarantees of people effective, will acquire the necessary skills to develop the litigation techniques that constitute a basic requirement in the current system oral procedural.

Comprehensive training based on a coherent and adequate study and analysis of the procedural institutions in each field of Procedural Law, their particularities and repercussions, will allow the student to acquire a critical position around the implications that in each of these areas of the procedural model adopted in our country are its own, being able to identify its particularities and specificities. The graduate will know precisely the debates, contributions and modern trends in light of current doctrinal currents and technological means whose implementation is increasingly necessary in procedural systems, providing them with special regulations and standards that must not only be understood, but applied in a suitable way to avoid the violation of rights.

The knowledge acquired around the modern oral procedural system will contribute to an exercise of specialized Procedural Law, allowing the improvement of the current procedural model, in accordance with the constitutional framework.

Entry requirements

Applicants for the Master's Degree in Procedural Law must have a third-level academic degree that accredits them as a Lawyer of the Courts of Justice and a Doctor of Jurisprudence.

The following are evaluation criteria: That the applicant has experience in the exercise of the profession in any of its areas, public officials or justice operators. These circumstances will make it possible to identify if they are capable of recognizing and identifying relevant legal problems in the area of ​​Procedural Law.

It will be decisive that applicants have the capacity for ethical, critical and evaluative analysis regarding problems and technical-legal questions that arise in the field of Procedural Law.

Admission process

Applicants must pre-register on the website of the postgraduate department (https://www.uazuay.edu.ec/admisiones/posgrados/), here they must upload documentation such as the third-level degree, their updated CV, certificate of approval of English at the university that graduated (in case of not having a certificate of approval of English, the UDA will take an exam that demonstrates a level B1), and passport-size photo. Once the pre-registration has been made, for this, the registration must be paid (50 USD) through the payment button with any credit card, in the University Treasury or by deposit or bank transfer to the following accounts:
