The health, economic and social reality that the country and the world are experiencing have aggravated the educational situation, which makes it necessary to train Ecuadorian teachers in skills related to management, teaching and the integration of ICT. To train fourth-level teachers in the ability to address, critically and reflectively, the main topics of education by applying theoretical, conceptual and methodological tools that contribute to the development of our students and their learning process.

The country's education can benefit from professionals capable of generating innovative proposals that respond to real contexts based on equity and focused on the study of learning climates that need transformations and adaptations, based on the lines of research of the program, delimiting their field of study and contextualizing their proposals responding to the local educational reality.

Thanks to the development of teaching competencies in areas related to management, teaching and ICT, our societies will be able to benefit from a transformation of the educational task, improving their quality of life in the personal and professional sphere.

Graduate profile

The professionals graduated from this Master's Degree, at a general level, will be able to: Critically analyze the main theories and concepts related to the education and training of teachers in the classroom; education and educational management; education and technologies that strengthen and sustain their practice. 

At the level of each mention: 

Mention in Didactics for Basic Education 

Analyze the pedagogical models and didactic sequences, from a sociocultural approach to teaching, in the curricular areas: Language, Literature, Mathematics, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences present in the academic debate, to guarantee meaningful and pertinent learning to the various contexts. 

Analyze the new approaches and didactic sequences, present in the academic debate, that consider the students and are more meaningful and pertinent for the teaching of the main areas of the curriculum. 

Mention in Management and Leadership 

Analyze the theoretical perspectives related to educational management and leadership, from an inclusive approach to strengthen the relationships of the main educational actors of an institution, guaranteeing the development of learning spaces that consider the diversity of local contexts. 

Mention in ICT-mediated Learning Management 

Select the theoretical foundations of the different epistemological approaches from techno-pedagogical models in teacher training to make judgments with scientific criteria and develop educational research.

Entry requirements
  • Have a Third Level degree in the educational area of ​​degree registered in SENESCYT. In the case of a third level degree obtained abroad, it must be duly apostilled or legalized by consular means in accordance with Article 22 of the RRA. If you have a degree other than the educational area, you must prove your experience in education.
  • Complete the online registration process, attaching the supporting documentation for the resume and detailed requirements.
  • Approve the admission process defined by the Graduate Department of the University.
Admission process

Applicants must pre-register on the website of the postgraduate department (https://www.uazuay.edu.ec/admisiones/posgrados/), here they must upload documentation such as the third level title, their updated CV, and passport-size photo. Once the pre-registration has been made, for this, the registration must be paid (50 USD) through the payment button with any credit card, in the University Treasury or by deposit or bank transfer to the following accounts:
