Entry requirements

MINIMUM APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SPECIALIZATION IN GYNECOLOGY

a) Presentation of the citizenship card for national applicants and for foreign applicants the identity card or passport.

b) Presentation of the national or foreign third-level degree certificate registered in the National Education Information System (SNIESE) and before the National Health Authority through the Agency for Quality Assurance of Health Services and Prepaid Medicine (ACESS ) or whoever takes his place. 

c) Certificate of having passed the CACES professional qualification exam.

d) Certificate of graduation merit indicator awarded by the institution from which you graduated. 

e) Certificate from the Ministry of Public Health of having performed rural medicine. 

f) Requirement of proficiency in English, level B1.

g) Other requirements requested by the university.

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR MERIT ASSESSMENT

In addition to the minimum application requirements, originals, notarized copies or the reference to the access link to the source of the following documents:

a) Publications made as main author or co-author in indexed journals and / or letters of acceptance of publication in indexed journals on works as main author or co-author, with the specifics on the volume and number of the publication, with its respective International Standard Number of Serial Publications (ISSN).

b) Publication of books or book chapters on subjects related to the career, with their respective International Standard Book Number (ISBN).

c) Certificates of scholarships obtained and fulfilled granted by national or foreign higher education institutions or another entity.

d) Certificates of participation in research and teaching projects.

e) Awards for academic and / or research merit, awarded by a higher education institution or one of the country's academic teaching units.

f) Certificate of compliance with the accrual of scholarship or compensation issued by the institution that financed the scholarship, if applicable.

g) Certificate of postgraduate studies related to the health area (if any).

h) Refresher courses (continuing education) endorsed by a higher education institution, with at least forty (40) hours of training and including evaluation. 

i) Teaching assistantships, practical or theoretical tutors in higher education institutions, duly certified by the competent authority, obtained through merit and opposition competitions. 

j) Duly documented clinical-surgical care activity that includes work history (mechanized by the Social Security Institute).

k) Participation in research projects duly endorsed by a higher education institution, a research institution or by the research director and / or head of teaching of health establishments, as well as certificates of being a lecturer or speaker at endorsed academic meetings . 

l) In the assessment of merits, affirmative action measures will be applied so that historically discriminated sectors participate in equal opportunities. Each condition must be duly certified by the corresponding institution.

 

EVALUATION PARAMETERS

The evaluation and qualification of the applicant will be carried out taking into account:

a) The assessment of merits (academic record and publications) that will have a value of 30 points. 

b) The evaluation of the opposition (theoretical exam 50 points and interview 20 points) that will have a total mark of 70 points.

Applicants must pre-register on the website of the postgraduate department (https://www.uazuay.edu.ec/admisiones/posgrados/), here they must upload documentation of the application requirements. People who do not have the English certificate may take a proficiency exam in the Language Unit of the University of Azuay, which will accredit this requirement. The exam will take place on Wednesday, August 11 at 18:00 p.m. virtually. To be part of this exam, you must:
