Entry requirements

Pediatrics postgraduate is a direct specialty; therefore, students must have a medical degree, granted by a national or international university, duly accredited in the country and that meets the specifications for professional practice in Ecuador, in accordance with the Technical Standard for Training in Medical and Dental Specializations.

MINIMUM APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SPECIALIZATION IN PEDIATRICS

a) Citizenship card for national applicants and for foreign applicants the identity card or passport.

b) Medical degree (national or foreign) registered in the National Information System of Higher Education of Ecuador (SNIESE) and before the National Health Authority through the Agency for Quality Assurance of Health Services and Prepaid Medicine (ACES). ) or whoever takes his place.

c) Certificate of having passed the CACES professional qualification exam.

d) Certificate from the Ministry of Public Health of having carried out rural medicine.

e) Updated certificate of proficiency in English level B1.

REQUIREMENTS FOR MERIT ASSESSMENT

c) Updated Certificate of Graduation Merit Indicator (IMG) over 15 points, granted by the institution where he completed his third level studies.

d) Certificates of scholarships obtained and completed granted by national or foreign higher education institutions or other entity.

e) Awards for academic merit and/or research, granted by a higher education institution or one of the country's academic teaching units.

f) Certificate of compliance with the accrual of scholarship or compensation issued by the institution that financed the scholarship, if applicable.

g) Certificate of postgraduate studies related to the area of ​​health (if any).

h) Refresher courses (continuous education) endorsed by a higher education institution, with at least forty (40) hours of training and including evaluation.

i) Teaching assistantships, practical or theoretical tutorials in higher education institutions, duly certified by the competent authority, obtained through merit and competitive examinations.

j) Duly documented clinical-surgical assistance activity that includes work history (mechanized by the Ecuadorian Institute of Social Security).

k) Participation in research projects duly endorsed by a higher education institution, a research institution or by the research director and / or head of teaching of health establishments, as well as certificates of being a lecturer or speaker at endorsed academic meetings .

EVALUATION PARAMETERS

The evaluation and qualification of the applicant will be carried out taking into account:

a) The assessment of merits (academic record and publications) that will have a value of 30 points.

b) The evaluation of opposition (theoretical exam 50 points and interview 20 points) which will have a total score of 70 points.
