The master's degree in Occupational Health and Safety with a mention in Labor Welfare is designed to train professionals through the application of management systems that contribute to the improvement of working conditions and the quality of life of workers in a way that minimizes the occurrence of occupational accidents and occupational diseases and the development of healthy and responsible organizations with legal compliance is promoted. The program is preferably aimed at professionals with third-level degrees registered with SENESCYT in the specific field of protection services. However, they may also be considered professionals from other areas of knowledge with a third-level degree who prove experience in the area of occupational health and safety and have been accepted by the program's admissions board.
Graduate profile
• Prepares and proposes preventive and corrective measures to minimize accident and occupational morbidity rates in public or private companies.
• Creates concrete plans that lead to obtaining better work environments that are healthy and safe for all workers.
• Applies current legal regulations for risk management and reduction of accidents, morbidity and mortality in relation to health and safety.
• Uses the basic principles of Toxicology, Ergonomics, Occupational Hygiene, Psychosociology, among other disciplines to study types of risks and propose preventive measures.
• Displays his technical-administrative knowledge about the management of risks at work, prior to the specific stages of Safety, Ergonomics and Industrial Hygiene through action in health and safety based on preventive techniques (before the accident or illness occupational).
• Employs essential knowledge in prevention and management of occupational risks and applies methodologies for the identification, evaluation and management of risks in occupational health and safety.
• Implements actions to prevent and promote occupational health and safety that contribute to the comprehensive management of companies.
• Promotes business development, growth and productivity based on the preservation and development of human resources and quality of life at work.
• Promotes the development of an organizational culture of occupational risk prevention.

Entry requirements
- Have a Third Level degree registered in SENESCYT.
- In the case of a third level degree obtained abroad, it must be duly apostilled or legalized by consular means in accordance with Article 22 of the RRA.
- Complete the online enrollment process by attaching supporting documentation for resume and detailed requirements.
- Approve the admission process defined for this purpose.

Applicants must pre-register on the website of the postgraduate department (https://www.uazuay.edu.ec/admisiones/posgrados/), they must load:

- Title of third degree level,
- Updated CV
