The objective of this program is to train specialists in Gynecology and Obstetrics with high scientific knowledge, adjusted to the local and national reality; with adequate professional abilities and skills; with appropriate fundamental values ​​and behaviors, comprehensive vision and critical thinking, in such a way that it promotes the well-being of the patients who come to your consultation.

What learning outcomes and professional competencies are necessary for future professional performance?

Know how to discern the established and evolving advances with respect to prenatal health and disease states; as well as epidemiology, physiology and pathophysiology, clinical and comprehensive management of obstetric and gynecological diseases.

Integrate the knowledge and skills acquired in the systematic approach to patients, using established practical methods, in a protocolized manner, based on universal evidence-based guidelines and recommendations.

Entry requirements

BASIC ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

1. Citizenship card for nationals and passport or identity card for foreign applicants.

2. National or foreign third-level professional medical degree, and title registration certificate at SENESCYT and before the National Health Authority, through the Agency for Quality Assurance of Health Services and Prepaid Medicine - ACESS- or whoever takes their place.

3. Certificate of approval of the CACES professional qualification exam, if applicable.

4. Certificate that proves command of the English language level B1 or higher, with a maximum validity of 4 years at the date of application.

5. Resume with supporting documents.

6. Certificate of rural medicine approval.

 

MERITS AND ITS ASSESSMENT  

The following will be considered and scored as merits:

a) Graduation Merit Index (IMG).

b) Publications made or letters of acceptance of publication.

c) Postgraduate studies in the area of ​​health.

d) Awards for undergraduate or postgraduate academic merit.

e) Teaching assistantships, practice or theory tutorials.

f) Participation in research projects.

g) Continuing education courses (in the area of ​​health).

h) Clinical-surgical assistance activity.

i) Participation as a lecturer or rapporteur.

 

ASSESSMENT PHASE

The merit phase will be worth 30 points, while the opposition phase will be worth 70 points.

2. Written exam: Friday 17 of February of 2023

3. clinical test:  Thursday and Friday March 2 and 3, 2023

4. Enrollment up to: Friday, March 24, 2023

Admission process

Applicants must register on the website of the Postgraduate Department (https://posgrados.uazuay.edu.ec/convocatorias), they must load:

1. Citizenship card for nationals and passport or identity card for foreign applicants.

2. Third-level professional medical degree, national or foreign, registered in the National System of Higher Education Information of Ecuador (SNIESE) and before the National Health Authority, through the Quality Assurance Agency of the Health Services and Prepaid Medicine -ACCESS- or whoever takes their place.

3. Certificate of approval of the CACES professional qualification exam, if applicable.

4. Certificate that proves command of the English language level B1 or higher, with a maximum validity of 4 years at the date of presentation.

5. Certificate of approval of Rural Medicine. 

6. Resume with supporting documents.

Applicants must:

1. Make a payment of 35,00 dollars to AFEME (Association of Ecuadorian Faculties of Medicine) corresponding to the Bank of Questions. Cancel by deposit or transfer (the deposit document is a requirement for registration).

2. Likewise, the value of the registration to the University of Azuay of 50,00 dollars must be paid through the payment button.
