The master's degree in Maintenance Management that the University of Azuay will offer, has as its object of study modern industrial maintenance engineering, with emphasis on the application of standardized methodologies that seek to optimize business resources, continuous improvement, and the construction of a culture quality.

To do this, students will be trained in the administration and solution of problems that arise in the maintenance department, from a perspective oriented, both to its management and to the engineering operational component, preparing them to make business decisions, and provide solutions. from a technical-economic perspective to maintenance problems.

CLASS SCHEDULE

The master's degree in maintenance management is taught in hybrid mode, around 75% of the classes are taught in virtual mode, and 25% in face-to-face mode, according to the following schedule: 


Synchronous virtual classes:
Monday through Friday from 18h00 to 21h00


Face-to-face classes:
Friday: 18:00 p.m. -21:00 p.m.
Saturdays: 8:00 a.m. – 13:00 p.m. and 14:00 p.m. to 17:00 p.m.

Normally in-person classes take place one weekend of each month.

Graduate profile

The professionals trained in the Master in Maintenance Management to be offered at the University of Azuay, will be able to implement strategies for the organization, planning, programming, execution, and control of the comprehensive management of maintenance services, adapting them to the characteristics operations of our environment; so they will be able to:

Apply the most recent technologies in the field of engineering and maintenance management, both for information management and obtaining quantitative performance estimators, as well as for equipment instrumentation, and information processing that allows to implement, or manage predictive monitoring systems.

Apply management, monitoring and control processes of the activities related to maintenance services, segregating equipment by its importance or criticality, to achieve maximum availability, and with full knowledge of its reliability.

Plan and execute the budget for maintenance services in order to maintain the value of the facilities and its standards, applying a vision of the maintenance function as a sustainable business.

Link the results of the maintenance services with the parameters of the operation and/or its indicators of efficiency and competitiveness.

Conduct research and studies to develop new maintenance and asset management techniques and technologies.

Properly select and control the contracting processes for specialized maintenance services.

Carry out advisory functions for policies at the level of companies or organizations.

Entry requirements
  • The program is aimed at third-level professionals with a degree registered with SENESCYT, preferably in the areas of: Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, Civil Engineering, and the like.
  • Have a Third Level degree registered in SENESCYT.
  • In the case of a third-level degree obtained abroad, it must be duly apostilled or legalized by consular means in accordance with Art.22 of the RRA.
  • Comply with the online registration process by attaching the supporting documentation of the resume and detailed requirements.
  • Approve the defined admission process.
Admission process

Applicants must register on the website of the Postgraduate Department www.uazuay.edu.ec/admisiones/postgrados, they must upload: passport size photo, third level degree title, identity card and updated CV.
